I have so much to be thankful for this year. My family is healthy, my son just got engaged (yay!) and I had 3 books come out this spring with a fourth book (The Best For Last) coming out next month. Thank you, lovely readers for taking the time to email me, Facebook me, and most especially READ my words. I appreciate you more than you can ever know!
Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the year and I LOVE decorating for it just as much as I love decorating for Christmas. I spent last night putting out all my fall/Thanksgiving things (see my cute plate above). So sad that it will only last a few days since the Christmas rush will be ON after that. Here’s what I did for the dining room buffet table although the light isn’t great considering I took this pic at around 4am. Yes, I was up at 3 due to the night nurse/writer curse. My hours just aren’t normal.
Another thing I love to do at the holidays is bring out the kids’ old artwork, like this Thanksgiving prayer of Kevin’s. I wish this had a date on it, but I suspect this was probably around 3rd or 4th grade. It case you can’t read it, it says:
A THANKSGIVING PRAYER
First the seed and then the grain.
Thank you, Lord for sun and rain.
First the flower, then the bread.
Thank you, God, that we are fed.
Amen.
