Mixing up the words

So if you’ve read my Bunco Babes books, you might remember Pilar Diaz-Rothman. She’s one of my favorite secondary characters. She also butchers phrases and words, much like someone else I know. Not that she’s inspired by my sister. Okay, so she is.

Here’s a conversation I had with my sister the other day:

Carmen: John and I just saw a great movie. The Lone Ranger.

Me: The Lone Ranger? As in High Ho, Silver?

Carmen: What? No, it’s about some Navy Seals. I think.

Me: Oh! You mean Soul Survivor.

Carmen: Yeah! That’s it. (giggles).

Yeah. We were talking about Lone Survivor.

Sigh.
